The Bands
Delaware Hayes Marching Band
The Hayes Marching Band is a co-curricular ensemble. You can see the band performing in Delaware parades, Football Friday’s, and in OMEA marching band competitions. Former students have marched in the Blue Stars, the Colts, and even dotted the “i” with the Ohio State University Marching Band! The marching band has performed nationally at the Peach Bowl, Disneyworld, and two halftime performances at the Outback Bowl. In 2017, the marching band made their international debut in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Larhardane, Ireland.
Delaware Hayes Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band performs music of the highest quality from a diverse background of composers. The Symphonic Band competes in OMEA Large Group adjudicated event where they have earned Superior Ratings every year they have attended. The band was selected as the high school performing ensemble for the 2020 OWU Honor Band.
Delaware Hayes Concert Band
The Concert Band focuses on developing musicianship through performance. The band plays music of the highest quality from a diverse background of composers. Musicians in the concert band are given opportunities to learn new instruments, perform chamber music, and much more!
Delaware Hayes Big Band
The Big Band is a voluntary ensemble that meets after school. This ensemble performs a wide range of genres including swing, blues, funk, rock and more! Anyone who wants to learn more about jazz is welcome!
Delaware Hayes Jazz Combo
The Combo is an audition-based group that learns tunes by ear, writes their own backgrounds, and learns to improvise solos.
Delaware Hayes Pep Band
The Pep Band supports the boys and girls basketball teams by performing at six home games. Go Pacers!
