July 2022 Cadence Club Minutes

July 5, 2022

Cadence Club: Meeting Called to order: 7:01pm by Ashley Hejmanowski

  • Approval of June minutes –motion to approve Julia Ward, second by Sarah Mickovsky

Committee Chair Reports

Treasurer’s Report: Ashley Hejmanowski

  • Register balance: $3275.75
  • Statement Ending balance $3,375.75
  • Recent Activity (deposits in May):
    • Need to pay Dana for Banner
    • Need to pay Teresa for plaque for Mr. D.
  • Expenses: owe the Music Boosters $483.26 for the plaques

VP1 Report: Jasmin Senecal

  • Parade went well; need way more water next time
    • Need to recommunicate that they need to hydrate BEFORE the parade
  • Use spray bottles for the Horse Parade (already own the bottles)
  • Mainly the same helpers for the Pit Crew; a couple of extra people (based upon the survey)

VP2 Report: Monica Logsdon

  • Wed the 27th of July – Wendy’s Dine to Donate
  • Working on Whits or Ciao for Dine to Donate
  • Homestretch – can handle the show shirts
    • Need to develop the design; need to look at cost/color
    • Can we use the word Beatles? Need a formal Show Name
    • No update re: the design as of right now (Josh Reynolds is available to help)

Secretary’s Report: Bronwyn Ida – Nothing new to report

Dempsey Rep: Marci T. no new report

Food Committee: Sarah Mickovsky

  • Do not need to do Friday evening meals
  • Band Camp will need meals
  • Just received the food binder from CJ today

Director’s Report: Bill Fowles

  • Ashley reviewed his questions regarding accounts

Schedule:

  • The summer schedule will stay the same. No dates will be added.
  • Schedule with all Football & Competition Dates (only 2 competitions) sent out
  • Friday Aug 5th is Pacer Fest – will do a preview show reveal
  • Sept 17th – OWU Showcase will need volunteers from both students & parents

Spirit Committee:

  • Sent a list of people interested in helping with the Spirit Committee

Uniforms: Angi DeLong

  • Alan is opening a PO to get the uniform jackets cleaned
  • Could use a couple of people to help with fittings Band Camp week

Old Business:

  • Banner replacement
    • Dana Angulo & Teresa Fathbruckner have worked on designs for the new banner
      • Received the official banner – little bit dirty along the top; will send back
      • Looking at a threaded pole so that it is easier to carry
      • Suggest a Gift Card for Teresa’s daughters for the work that she did on it
        • $25 Gift Card motioned by Sarah Reynolds and 2nd by Sarah Mickovsky
  • Dana designed Thank you Cards for future events – have extra we will give to Mr. Fowles
  • Summer Uniforms (requested through the survey)
    • Shorts – pay after the fact on the website

New Business:

  • Need a guard list to give to Mr. Fowles & Mr. Notestein to help with communication
    • Ashley will also add to Cadence Club email list, for guard families
    • If your child is in Guard, it does work as a PE Waiver/Credit
  • Planning to do Tag Day this year
    • Teams of 4-5 students w/an adult go door to door
    • Report to the HS, choose a map of a neighborhood
      • Provide maps by seniority
    • Knock on everyone’s door & ask for money
      • Wear a band shirt or summer uniform
    • Bring an old Shako to collect money in
    • Recommend using a QR Code to allow people to “pay on-line”
      • Use PayPal
    • Would like to schedule in September; recommend before the OWU Showcase
    • Will do a pizza lunch at the school
  • Older neighborhood residents would like to come to see the show, not during a football game
    • Will ask Mr. Fowles if there is a night that people could come; include Grandparents in the communication
