A few Cadence Club updates:
Our joint fruit sale with Music Boosters continues through February 11th. The link is HERE. Historically, this is a very successful fundraiser for Cadence Club, but sales have been slow this time around. If you do not wish to order fruit at this time for whatever reason, we always accept donations through our PayPal account (link HERE) or checks sent to Cadence Club, PO Box 5, Delaware, OH 43015.
Our rescheduled pasta dinner fundraiser, Melodies & Marinara, is coming up on February 24th! This is always a fun evening full of music performed by Dempsey and Hayes students, with a pasta dinner and silent auction. We have many lovely items to bid on – check out our Facebook page for a sneak peek. Tickets can be purchased HERE. If you purchased tickets for the original date, you do not need to buy new tickets.
It is the time of year that we begin to consider Cadence Club board elections! Being on the board is an important part of keeping the band programs running. We are building the ballot in advance of the March meeting, and elections will be held at the April meeting. While all board positions can be filled each year, we have three positions that have been filled by the same person for 2 years and they are therefore rotating out of those positions:
President: The President shall conduct all regular, special and Executive Board meetings. The President shall be a liaison to the School Board and District administration, the high school administration, the Band Director, and the parents. The President will oversee the Food, Uniform and Spirit Committees, chair theAwards Committee and perform other duties as assigned by majority vote of voting members present in person at the meeting.
2nd Vice-President: The 2nd Vice-president, in the absence of the President and 1st Vice-president, shall perform the duties of the President and/or 1st Vice-president. The 2nd Vice-president will chair the Fundraising Committee and perform other duties as assigned by majority vote of voting members present in person at the meeting.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall keep an accurate and detailed account of the financial dealings of the Cadence Club. The Treasurer will chair the Finance Committee and perform other duties as assigned by majority vote of voting members present in person at the meeting.
