  • Students are making good progress at all levels in their preparation for the All-City Concert
    on December 15th.
  • Would like to have some chaperones to assist with crowd control (kids) on Dec 15th
  • Currently have 33 students participating in Jazz Band
  • We have a total of about 280 students involved in band from grades 1-6. Gym capacity is
980 on the Visitor’s side where the audience is seated. We are giving students 2 tickets per
family. Remember that the concert is being live streamed as well, so hopefully that will help
  • We’re only planning on printing around 300 programs. This should allow one per family. We
are also offering a QR code as guests come into the building to allow them to view the
program. Trying to stretch our district dollars.
  • I have nominated 14 kids in grades 7-8 to be a part of the Ohio Wesleyan Honors Band
weekend. It is on the long weekend that we have in February (17-18) and is a great
opportunity for our students to participate with some other great musicians from around
    Central Ohio.
  • I am looking at planning a Solo and Ensemble event, in April, at Dempsey for my band kids
as the OMEA District 10 contest location is a minimum of 60 minutes away from Dempsey.
This will hopefully create less strain for parents and entice more students to be involved.
  • Bill and I offered to cook a spaghetti dinner for the kids if we got a 1 at District Marching
Band competition. Bill is making the Home-made meatballs and the kids asked me to make
my home-made sauce. We would like to request funds to enable us to purchase the
necessary supplies for these items in addition to plates and utensils. He has promised that
we would get it done before year’s end. The cost of sauce ingredients is roughly $110 and
I’m not sure of the cost for the Meatball ingredients.
    • Discussed during the meeting to not provide monetary support, but suggest that the
directors request donations of food from the parents
